Above is the First Prayer in Congress which lasted three hours and it was said George Washington stayed on his knees. We all need to study the truth so that we can be free of the lies that have made many of our new laws. This nation was founded on God and the founding fathers intent on the Constitution must be known by all of us--see our historical links and find out the truth for yourself also see the truth about the first amendment on our front page. Let the truth shine for our future and our children's future.
Most pastors have been made fearful about politics and what they can say (see article bottom of page to shine some truth in this issue for your pastor and offer freedom for them in the future by your support on legislation by Congressman Walter Jones to free the pulpit.) Go click here. to hear a 12 minute story from David Barton of two great pastors that affected this nation--see Wallbuilders under Great Links--for more.
Agape Press---Of those surveyed, only 6 percent of clergy and only 11 percent of lay church members said they feel their own church is "very involved in local politics or political issues."--see rest of article below.
Have we forgotten the importance of His Word in the public square--it is not just for Sunday but was a part of everyday life in the days of the founding fathers--it was revered in their schools, in their workplace and definitely in the government. We have allowed the bible and prayer to be taken out of our schools Hear our podshows and hear David Barton talk about the founders and their legacy.

Excerpts from John Eidsmoe's book--God and Caesar
"For the Christian man to reason that God does not want him in politics because there are too many evil men in government is as insensitive as for a Chrisitan doctor to turn his back on an epidemic because there are too many germs there. For the Christian to say that he will not enter politics because he might lose his faith is the same as for the physician to say that he will not heal men because he might catch their diseases"-- Senator Mark Hatfield.
Let us not just talk about what's wrong with society, when the opportunity arises, and they do--do something about it. Thinking that Christians shouldn't be involved in politics is like David saying , "No thanks, Samuel, I don't think a believer should be involved in politics.
Look also at the examples of Daniel, a Jewish believer who was faithful to God while serving as prime minister or Esther, a Jewish believer intervening in the politics of the time to save her people.
Many of us today do not equate our actions in politics as saving souls--yet many of the women who had performed abortion wishes that abortion was not so easily had, that many families suffering because of the ease of pornography entering their children's mind and life wishes it wasn't so.
It is time for us to love with a love like the Daniels and Esthers of old--it is time to get involved --our world and our families need it for such a time as this.

Study Finds Most U.S. Churches Fairly Uninvolved in Politics
See under News In The Wire from Agape Press
By Allie Martin
October 2, 2006
(AgapePress) - Despite many portrayals in the mainstream media, a spokesman for one national research firm says two recent studies show few churches in the United States are actively involved politically. In these studies, researchers found that pastors and lay church members generally view their congregations as largely uninvolved in politics.
Two studies were conducted by Ellison Research (Phoenix, Arizona) for Facts & Trends magazine. One surveyed a representative sample of 797 Protestant church ministers nationwide, while the other companion survey questioned 1,184 adults who attend Protestant churches at least once a month.
The studies asked each group about their personal political views, as well as how appropriate it is for churches to be politically involved in a number of ways. Of those surveyed, only 6 percent of clergy and only 11 percent of lay church members said they feel their own church is "very involved in local politics or political issues."
And among the clergy and laity polled in the two surveys, in terms of national politics or political issues, the numbers were nearly identical. In fact, Ellison Research's president, Ron Sellers, says politics is "one area where the laity and the ministers basically were of one mind on how involved their church is."
For example, Sellers notes, "we have 76 percent of pastors who say their church is very involved in study of the Bible, 41 percent, very involved in overseas in overseas evangelism or missions; but only seven percent say their church is 'very involved' in national politics or political issues."
Meanwhile, the research company official points out, "You've got a majority of all churches saying that they're either not very involved or they actually avoid political issues." So in reality, he says, "even though the whole church-state separation and involvement of a few churches and things like that are in the news all the time, relatively few churches are really very actively involved in politics."
The studies revealed that the churches most likely to be involved politically are Pentecostal and Southern Baptist congregations. However, Ellison Research reports, even in those denominational groups, few churches go beyond being "somewhat involved" in national or local political issues.
Also, while pastors who are evangelical and/or politically conservative were found to be slightly more likely than others to report some political involvement, the difference turned out to be small. And overall, the researchers report, "there are no major differences in involvement in local politics according to the pastor's theology (mainline or evangelical) or the pastor's personal political views (conservative, moderate, or liberal)."
Ellison Research's report on its study of pastors, churches and political involvement was published in the latest issue of Facts and Trends, a bimonthly magazine produced by the Corporate Communications Office of LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention.

If you are part of that 11 per cent remember Jesus words in Mark 6:50--"Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." then he went into the boat with them, and the wind died down.
Few churches today equate saving the lives of the unborn with who they put in government --as much as we want to send missionaries overseas to save souls and spread the good news--we also ought to see the importance of upholding the sanctity of marriage and the sanctity of life-for those are things that are also according to God's will. We pray for God's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven why do we see it differently when it comes to politcs? After all God blessed us to be a nation that gets to choose its leaders. How we have forgotten our beginnings as a nation whose government was filled with preachers bold for the Lord filling high places from Presidents to Generals calling on the people to do God's will in government. The church being involved in politics is now a rarity because the fear of losing a tax exemption has muzzled our preachers to the point that most will not even do what is even allowed such as passing out voter guides etc. What happened to the fear of the LORD? People are hurting isn't it time we change? If the churches of today would just stop to look at where they were when they helped form one of the greatest this nation with their prayers and involvement in government maybe they can take the helm back and lead America back to following God's will. There is a war out there and and it is time Christians unite . If the churches sees themselves with a set of eyes like the founders did what a difference that can make. Let us start with humbling ourselves and seeking God's face. The first prayer in Congress lasted three hours and it's been said George Washington never got off his knees. Please seek God's will in this election and may He have mercy on us and open our churches eyes to lead us back to God's principles and invoke his blessings and protection from our enemies.
"The fate of good men who refuse to become involved in politics, is to be ruled by evil men" -- Edmund Burke.
JESUS PRAYED
"I HAVE GIVEN THEM YOUR WORD AND THE WORLD HAS HATED THEM,FOR THEY ARE NOT OF THE WORLD ANYMORE THAN I AM OF THE WORLD. MY PRAYER IS NOT THAT YOU TAKE THEM OUT OF THE WORLD BUT THAT YOU PROTECT THEM FROM THE EVIL ONE. THEY ARE NOT OF THE WORLD,EVEN AS I AM NOT OF IT. SANCTIFY THEM BY THE TRUTH; YOUR WORD IS TRUTH. AS YOU SENT ME INTO THE WORLD, I HAVE SENT THEM INTO THE WORLD. FOR THEM I SANCTIFY MYSELF, THAT THEY TOO MAY BE TRULY SANCTIFIED." JOHN17:14-19 NIV
Restoring the Broken Legacy of Our Pastors
This nation was founded on thoughts brought out by Pastors encouraging the people to form a new government. Their fiery sermons served this nation well and is the reason for our great Constitution. But their legacy was broken when in 1954 then Senator Lyndon Johnson slipped into the 1954 Internal Revenue Code prohibitions against pastors and other clergy endorsing or supporting candidates for public office to silence the pressure being placed upon him from church leadership in Texas. From then on the Legacy of the Pastors to be salt and light to the nation has been broken. It is time to take actions to give freedom to our pastors for even though they have the following rights listed below many are muzzled and can't even make a point to pray for the election in their churches for fear of this man made law. In Zechariah 4:6 "Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit", says the LORD Almighty. We need our pastors to regain their legacy.
(Americans United for Separation of Church and State sent tens of thousands of letters to pastors throughout the country warning them of the Internal Revenue Service Code and sanctions if they were to breach it.However, Americans United do admit that pastors do have the right to speak out on the moral and biblical issues of the day, even during election season and that all pastors are prohibited from doing is endorsing or opposing candidates for public office and that does not apply to the pastor in their individual capacity. )
The damage has been done as can be seen in this election--we pray and hope the pastors will know the truth for the next election. Contact your congressman to co sponsor this bill.
