Veteran's Day After Ft. Hood Shooting
Veteran's Day 2009 was bittersweet. It's hard to believe, just last week, 43 people's lives were changed forever in a battle that raged for 10 minutes in the heart of America's largest military base. Our hearts ached as it did on 9/11 at the incredible act of hatred that caused mindless cold-blooded murder in our soil. We have heard of the call of Bin Laden for Jihad and we've seen a glimpse of it-- but last week it hit home and it hit hard. More and more are speaking of it as an act of terror and why not--it is exactly what the terrorists have been calling for.
So Veteran's day though it was celebrated with a lot of cheers and smiles--I believe, there is also new found determination in the hearts of Americans to honor our freedom fighters by helping ensure they do not get massacred within their camp. We have seen the scale tip too heavily when we ignore the obvious.
It was a day for solemn thanksgiving to the legacy of freedom fought by all our soldiers in the past and present. Freedom indeed isn't free and it can be lost if the enemy comes in because America is swallowing a sleeping pill called "political correctnes."
Hope Americans remember that being politically involved is part of honoring God's blessings of letting us live in this shining "city on a hill." So please call Congress at 202 224-3121 to support Lieberman's call for an investigation. It's a small thing to do for our brave men and women.
May God bless our soldiers and may God bless America.
