Election Results--What Can We Learn? Hope Lives!
Tonight I prayed along with many for this nation's election. I sought the Lord and prayed Daniel's prayer in Daniel 9:4-19. And He in His great mercy gave this nation great victories. It was amazing to see the change in leadership in the House and to see the new leader who acknowledged that indeed this is the land of hope. John Boehner new Majority Leader for US House of Representatives--choked as he remembered the road he took--it was not easy:
"I started out mopping floors and waiting on tables, tending a bar at my Dad's tavern... started out going to school and working every rotten job there was and every night shift I could find. I poured my heart and soul in running a small business..."
Those words ring out in many American's mind . A true leader such as Boehner--that knows what it's like (and still remembers it) to struggle from the bottom up through hard work and perseverance--is rare. The common man has indeed found its representative-a common man's best friend in Congress that can help turn this nation back to the road to greatness.
We come back to what made this nation great. They were humble men that through their blood sweat and tears and sacrifices for a better future-- and most importantly with the blessings from God, resulted in a great America. John Boehner, I believe knows that, so watch out America as yet again Heaven may smile and pour its blessings liberally.
I started out wanting to talk about the other losses that I saw even in the heart of small town America--but God reigns in his throne and he sees the hearts of men. Many pretends to honor him yet they would rather choose a vice over obedience to God and the votes clearly showed it. But then it happens in large cities and even small towns-- America is not exempt from idolatry.
But over all it was a very good Nov 2nd election--and many men and women of integrity will be on the road to turning America back on course again away from tyranny. It happened in its beginnings and it can happen again.
