EPHRAIM'S ARROW--JEWISH STUDIES

Weather By The Hour

Don't forget as you check on the weather to check in with the One who calms the storms!

Fields White To Harvest

Lord, I thought I knew you,

   but know the winds have changed.

Tossed away, will you find me?

   Can still , my heart be sustained?

Just me and you when things were new,

then the season's storms blew by.

   Did I forget to worship you?

Will you come, Lord Jesus to gather us- your sheep.

   For the days grow long and still,

If we watch and wait, will you hear us yet-

   Can we stand strong to do you will?

 The wheat has been blowing in that field,

   While the laborers are so few.

What then, now are we waiting for?

   Can hardened hearts become like new?

 Safely can we stay behind you,

   as we march with your trumpet sound?

Or- have we stayed and hid so long now,

   That our roots dry underground?

 I pray Lord that you will find me.

   I pray not to be ashamed.

I seek you when it's early Lord.

   I pray not to fall away.

So come Lord Jesus come quickly-

   The terrible day is at hand.

I pray we'll all be steadfast.

   So you may strengthen our spirits ,

as we stand.

What Happens When Teachers Get A Glimpse of Their Future--What Planners of Common Core Hope Teachers Don't Find Out Until Too Late--Teachers Lose When Children Lose

Hear this from three education experts--two of which were on the National Validation Committee of Common Core and they have found it to be very deficient to the point that it is considered dangerous for children.  Teachers need to listen to these top experts (look up their accolades) and heed their warnings.

Obama and his Department of Ed have launched a full scale plan using taxpayer money to nationalize education.  And since the destruction is within the mind of a child-- it is easy to ignore the effects of Obamacore aka Common Core (here is a Common Core collage of excerpts from interviews with Professors Sandra Stotsky and Jim Milgram, Charlotte Iserbyt, Alice Linahan, Christel Swasey, Becky Gerritson, Jackie Virga, Col. John Eidsmoe, Ken Freeman,--you can make copies on CDs to share).

There are many parents already troubled about its effects in even as young as Kindergarteners (here's link of what is being forced upon one so young). And then here's a fb post from one parent whose heart is broken for many (the death of dreams toward exceptionalism?):

Here is what another mom experienced today in her child's classroom:
I had a real Common Core eye-opening, personal experience today when I volunteered in my youngest daughters kindergarten class today. I was asked by the teacher to pre-assess them on addition/subtraction. We are nearing 4 weeks in school and I was surprised of my task. She gave me the option to not do it since she knows how I
feel but I decided to go ahead. I can't even explain the rising of tears and emotions when 75% of the children looked to me for answers and were totally confused. Most have never seen addition/subtraction problems and my hear broke every time one said "I can't do this" or "I don't understand". Assessing children on things they haven't even been exposed to is WRONG! It sets them up for failure right at the beginning of school and the look of discouragement on their faces...broke my heart! Why shatter their spirit so young when they haven't even discovered the true love of learning? That's NOT rigor, that's plain inhumane!

But another class that is falling as victims at the same time are the teachers.  Many of them used to love their job.  It brought them joy to see the gleam in the eyes of children when they finally get what the teacher has worked hard to teach--that love for learning.  It also brought them joy when they saw a development of kindness and goodness toward fellow students when stories were read that promoted that Golden Rule.  The teaching profession was just marvelous in the eyes of many teachers, parents and definitely to students.  Then came Common Core...little by little the joy is leaving their profession.

This link is to one mother's story to give a glimpse of how joy was snuffed out...

Many educators keep trying to convince themselves that's it's going to get better--that it's just a matter of time and they just need a better approach... hence more training etc. etc...

And then there are more of those that finally tell themselves that it is just too much and maybe it's time to get out.  For those that want to know what happened to their teaching profession, here is an interview with one teacher who had been at the top and then was brought low by the very people that at one point commended him for being such fine teacher.  If you are a teacher, please listen and realize you are not the problem.  However, it is also time for you to realize that "you" can be part of the solution.

Here's another food for thought to make you realize this had been planned a long time ago.

Sometimes truth hurts but God is able to help us when we hurt and He certainly loves the little children.  By the way, there is help for you if you feel like you've been squeezed too hard.  Set yourself free and help God's children.  Remember the Founders ended tyranny by asking God to be part of the equation and please know God can overcome anything the other side throws your way(just be sure to be on the right side of God).

Here's an interview about a group that have been proven to help teachers:

Righteous Anger Rising Up In Alabama Parents--It Is Contagious and Why

Here are thoughts from a parent who attended a school meeting in Leeds, Alabama:

We all knew there'd come a time when the Common Core fight would put parents against teachers. I saw the first sign of it tonight at Leeds' Curriculum Night. It was ugly.

I'm not sure I've ever felt so angry, scared and helpless all at the same time.

Silver lining? I wasn't the only one to get angry. I wasn't the only one to speak out. Parents are being forced to wake up to Common Core and they don't like it.

I think we all lost patience and dropped our niceties when the teacher/presenter said "I don't know that we would need any home support" (when questioned on why there are no text books).

There is a new feeling in the air.  Just as fall is coming--the fall of Common Core (and anything that takes away parental authority) is also coming.  And rightly so in Alabama because this is a state whose God is the LORD.  Most Alabamians still have values and they know they do not want a "dog eat dog mentality" raised up in their children and the same with the majority of citizens in this United States of America.  Many across America are re-learning history and what made America great.  They are seeing that we are reaping results of tyranny and that these words from Washington are ringing true--

Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connections with private and public felicity. Let it simply be asked: Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice ? And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.

The planners of Common Core are hearing about the new tide rising and they will be fighting it with their media blitz and with so much money...but truth is on our side and God is on our side.

We have heard the rumblings promoting Common Core. The mantra of College and Career-Ready Standards have all of a sudden dimmed.  There is a new mantra being heard and it is from parents who are fed up with being fed lies.  These parents have researched these wonderfully touted Common Core Standards and found them very wanting and very sick.  Here's is just the latest findings on these wonderful Common Core:

Excerpts from this article link

As the Superintendent of the Middle Country Schools, LI – Roberta Gould – said recently, “We strongly believe there is no correlation between these latest assessment results and our students’ ability to be college-and-career-ready.

Five states have not signed on to Common Core and, unsurprisingly, they share 95% of the same standards as the core but they don’t destroy kids’ self-image with inadequate standardized testing nor do they have a plan to nationalize education.

Common Core has their own website you can go to read the standards.

If you want to determine the age-appropriateness of them, first check out Kindergarten.

The Core ‘experts’ expect kindergarteners to ‘Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing’ by the second half of kindergarten.

Just the use of the word ‘command’ in relation to a five-year old shows their cluelessness and ineptitude.

They start out expecting them to ‘Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking’ by the first half of kindergarten.

By 2014, kindergarten children in New York will be subjected to testing on the many age-inapproriate concepts they have been taught.

Soon, it will be the nation’s kindergarteners since 45 states have signed on to it.

You get the idea. Kindergarten just isn’t fun any more...

---

And here's more from Obama's Beloved Partner--Planned Parenthood who will have a key role in Sex Education for kids as early as Kindergarten:

However, some information is inappropriate to give earlier or ever in schools, said Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood clinic director.

“We saw in a couple different states last year that part of Planned Parenthood’s curriculum is to demonstrate different sexual positions with stuffed animals to children in kindergarten,” she said.

So you see, more parents are finding out that instead of loving to learn at even the youngest level--they are finding children very troubled by schools and in no time at all, as this video shows.  How dare the planners do this to the children!!  They do--if they think no one will stop them...

So please get educated.  Listen to the warnings here and then research yourself as every state now has a Stop Common Core fb page and then there is Truthinamericaneducation.com and another called Citizens United For Responsible Education (Cure).  There are so many great sites for you to learn so please search and find the truth for yourself.

...So why are Alabamians very angry?  Here is a comment from a social worker which we will leave unnamed but am so thankful for her insight that was shared as a comment on the book The Bluest Eye.  Alabama parents (thanks to posting on Stop Common Core in Alabama FB) were alerted on the availability of such an immoral book on a reading list for their children:

"This is terrifying! As a social worker who’s worked with teens for over 20 years, I would be terrified to let some young men read this book as they would regard it as a how-to-manual! Do you want your young teenage girls in a classroom with a boy who already has these types of thoughts reading this book together? Discussing it with each other? I am horrified that this book actually puts the reader as a co-conspirator to these sexually violent acts, then regards the rapist/child-molester as “gentle” or “doing God’s work.” The author seems to be trying to “normalize” pedophilia and downplay the life-long emotional, psychological, mental, and physical effects born from sexual violence.

Then I think of all of the young girls I’ve worked with who have been molested by their fathers, uncles, friends of family. I can’t imagine the mental anguish and trauma this would cause these girls.

What in the world was this author thinking? How could Oprah, a woman who was molested herself, recommend this book? What’s next? NAMBLA (North American Man/Boy Love Association) literature in the classrom? Playboy magazine in the library? (I hear it has “great articles.”

Shame on “educators” – teachers, administrators, and librarians – who promote obvious pornography as “literature.”

Parents, it’s time to get involved or watch as your children suffer the consequences of your own apathy."

Here are two articles for readers to better understand why the rage against this book--

National Reading List/Exemplars(What Happens When People Have To Teach To The Test)

Senator Speaks Out To Remove Book While Defending Common Core (guess he doesn't quite get it that there are more like it in this Common Core mindset).

Many Parents are getting convinced there is a war on the minds of their children and in Alabama and many other states they still believe in the Holy Scriptures:

Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.  Proverbs 22:6

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.  Phil 4:8

"If anyone causes one of these little ones--those who believe in me--to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea."  Matthew 18:6

And just as in the beginning of this nation, in the first Prayer of Congress (lasted 3 hours)--there are those who remember to stand on God's Word (they read Psalm 35).  It made all the difference then and Alabamians know (and many others throughout the states in this God blessed nation) God can make a difference again today for those who trusts in the name of the LORD.  So righteous anger we have-- but more importantly we have an Almighty God.  Hope others will  join us and ask God as in Psalm 35...

"Lord, you have seen this; do not be silent.
    Do not be far from me, Lord.
 Awake, and rise to my defense!
    Contend for me, my God and Lord.
 Vindicate me in your righteousness, Lord my God;
    do not let them gloat over me.
Do not let them think, “Aha, just what we wanted!”
    or say, “We have swallowed him up.”

May all who gloat over my distress
    be put to shame and confusion;
may all who exalt themselves over me
    be clothed with shame and disgrace.
May those who delight in my vindication
    shout for joy and gladness;
may they always say, “The Lord be exalted,
    who delights in the well-being of his servant.”

My tongue will proclaim your righteousness,
    your praises all day long."

Please go to your Pastors and tell them what is going on and see what a difference it makes.  We need to learn that we have not --'cause we ask not of our Mighty Awesome God.  Try it some may say no but for those that say yes--wow what a difference...

Steps To Help When Going To See Your Pastor About Common Core

More and more people are looking at what to do against Common Core.  They are also learning that Charter Schools is not the answer as it is like Common Core (CSCOPE in Tx.), taking away PARENTAL AUTHORITY and that is not acceptable.  Sooner or later School Choice will be pushed as The Choice but already experience has shown that more private schools are aligned to Common Core and certainly Charter Schools will so there is really no such thing as School Choice.

It is time to make a stand.  Public education has been broken down because we have not been involved.  We have trusted, or been too apathetic or too busy.  Many reasons and some good,  led majority of Americans to be uninvolved.  But no longer can we afford it.  This quote ought to wake most parents up--

“The goal is to reach kids before they absorb their parents’s values. By middle school it’s too late.”

Many of us have long known that not only the teaching of immoral sexual practices in school but the teaching of those things at younger and younger ages has been specifically targeted to evade parental values.

This video is a must watch because "It's Perfectly Normal" (approved supplemental book in Illinois for 10 yr old and yet not fit for prisoners) and other books permeating on school shelves and/or online will lead to more sexualization of your kids.  They are being led to the path of addiction in this case sexual addiction (perversion) under the lie of children's need to know.

I learned from a national group named--CURE that there are many books from Pre-K on up which is really part of an anti-bias curriculum.  So we have to get beyond the lie that this is not happening (you will when you watch It's Perfecty Normal).  The books we read in the past are now being removed and replaced with newer books--as after all if you want to change America--it begins with the mind.   And now with schools letting children read their Accelerated Reading books online--who knows what children are reading?  Shockingly many of the books our children have access to read in school and/or online have very sexual overtones and are very filthy.  I can't even name them.  Please go to CURE's website to get more info on them.

How can we fight it?

  • With many prayers. Please cover the children daily--before they go to school and before they do homework and before they go to bed.  Pray over them and let them hear or if they are old enough to read God's Word (even a paragraph is good).  There is something very healing about it and very soothing.  Reading the Holy Bible led to deeper, higher, thinking skills for our founders.  And as  Professor Sandra Stotsky who is the foremost Academic on ELA (the ELA expert that was on the National Validation Committee and would not sign off on Common Core)--it is like reading Shakespeare and she  says it's great to let them read it!!!  Bring a praying friend with you at the meeting.  Ask Pastor if it's ok if you pray first to open the meeting.
  • Join a Stop Common Core group in your state (they all have a fb page) such as this one for Alabama.  Go to Cure for help in finding them.
  • Churches can share information and parents need to know--so they can defend their child!

Example of how you can talk to the Pastor (food for thought):

First ask the Pastor if he remembered how parents could go to their local school boards if they had a problem with what was being taught in school and they usually say yes.  Tell them that is no longer the case.  Share with them that there was a Race To The Top Application for Fed grant $$ that was given to all states around Nov 2009.  Because states were desperate for money most applied within two months.  In the application, they would get points for agreeing to certain things--most importantly that they would give up their own state's standards for what was called Common Core Standards (which were copyrighted and you can't change anything can only add up to 15%).

Let Pastor read a minute the front of brochure.  Then point to the part where I quote the experts on the back such as Prof. Jim Milgram and Prof. Sandra Stostky (who I say the whole country should be listening to the most.)

Then tell Pastor about how they want us all to think this is just about academics and I point to the brochure and let them read the words about the National Sexuality Standards--"Students need opportunities to engage in cooperative and active learning strategies, and sufficient time must be allocated for students to practice skills relating to sexuality education."

I read out loud to them the part on the brochure about Planned Parenthood wanting to be our children's sex experts. And I follow with the inside of brochure on the observations from Mental Health Therapist.

We have seen miracles as if the Pastor was prepared ahead of time. I think of Habakkuk 2:1-4 as if the Pastors had been waiting for this time:

I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

Try it and be surprised--but always cover it in prayer first and have someone praying over your meeting.  I have a feeling God has been talking to the Pastors and their hearts are ready to hear from you.  They need to hear from someone in their flock!  Please don't wait--let it be you--God makes all the difference and will delight you with His help.  May the Lord bless you.  It is time for America to seek God and ask for His forgivenes.  He is good and His love endures forever...

Hear the word of the Lord, you Israelites,
    because the Lord has a charge to bring
    against you who live in the land:
“There is no faithfulness, no love,
    no acknowledgment of God in the land.
There is only cursing,a]">[a] lying and murder,
    stealing and adultery;
they break all bounds,
    and bloodshed follows bloodshed.
Because of this the land dries up,
    and all who live in it waste away;
the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky
    and the fish in the sea are swept away.

“But let no one bring a charge,
    let no one accuse another,
for your people are like those
    who bring charges against a priest.
You stumble day and night,
    and the prophets stumble with you.
So I will destroy your mother—
    my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.

“Because you have rejected knowledge,
    I also reject you as my priests;
because you have ignored the law of your God,
    I also will ignore your children.

Hosea 4:1-6

After this --hope you will go to your local school board next.  God is great and will be with you.  And tell them about what's happening with New York (hear this about a Superintendent that spoke up)--it's gonna be a tsunami and it's coming to your state:

Concerned parents still on the fence about "refusing" the state tests, read this. Perhaps one of the best rebuttals of the new exams and the nonsense that has followed them.

Dr. William Johnson: "To hell with these scores. They’re not informing us in any way; they’re not giving us any new information. In fact, what they’re doing is serious damage. Kids who had a [Level] 3 last year and ended up with a [Level] 1 this year, how do I tell them they can’t read, when in fact we know they can?”

"According to Johnson, however, King sent an email last week to all of the state’s superintendents, telling them not to use the scores for anything. “It should not be incorporated into APPR, nor should it be used to inform decisions about whether teachers should or should not be here next year, or should or should not get teacher improvement plans,” Johnson said. “So we’re living right now through a time that I can only describe as a theater of the absurd.”"

School test scores drop sharply - LIHerald.com
liherald.com
By Alex Costello acostello@liherald.com New York state released the results of its new tests last week and, as expected, scores for students all over the state, including Rockville Centre, ….

If those are not enough and you are not convinced that you need to do something--this might just do it:

Read this to arm yourself and get your mind right:

The Psalm
103

Praise for the LORD's Benefits
A Psalm of David.

1  Bless the LORD, O my soul:

and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2  Bless the LORD, O my soul,

and forget not all his benefits:
3  who forgiveth all thine iniquities;

who healeth all thy diseases;
4  who redeemeth thy life from destruction;

who crowneth thee with loving-kindness and tender mercies;
5  who satisfieth thy mouth with good things;

so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6  The LORD executeth righteousness

and judgment for all that are oppressed.
7  He made known his ways unto Moses,

his acts unto the children of Israel.
8  The LORD is merciful and gracious, Jas. 5.11

slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
9  He will not always chide:

neither will he keep his anger for ever.
10  He hath not dealt with us after our sins;

nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11  For as the heaven is high above the earth,

so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12  As far as the east is from the west,

so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
13  Like as a father pitieth his children,

so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
14  For he knoweth our frame;

he remembereth that we are dust.
15  As for man, his days are as grass:

as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
16  For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone;

and the place thereof shall know it no more.
17  But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting

upon them that fear him,
and his righteousness unto children's children;
18  to such as keep his covenant,

and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
19  The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens;

and his kingdom ruleth over all.
20  Bless the LORD, ye his angels,

that excel in strength,
that do his commandments,
hearkening unto the voice of his word.
21  Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts;

ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
22  Bless the LORD, all his works

in all places of his dominion:
bless the LORD, O my soul.

Flyer-Common Core Removes Parental Authority / Who Will Parents Go To When The Power of Local School Boards Is Gone?

Here is a link to a Common Core Collage that you can copy and make CDs to distribute for those new to the Common Core fight.  Very informative--excerpts from Proferssors Jim Milgram, Sandra Stotsky,  Christel Swasey, Charlotte Iserbyt etc.

Here is a flyer (tri-fold) that can be used to wake up parents to the coming demise of Parental Authority (should they decide not to be involved).  Please download the files and then print from your downloaded PDF file--you may want to enlarge it just a bit.  It is going to take a massive awakening to make a difference.  Please share.  This flyer includes Lou Gerstner's idea (his company Achieve wrote Common Core) on getting rid of the 16,000 school districts and replace with 70.  He apparently does not believe most parents should have input.  So he makes a suggestion to our Pres  and as you can see in this link the power will be solidified under one global management firm (a firm where he got his start) within the next two years.  Included is also the very disturbing supposition from Planned Parenthood that their role should be that of math teachers as they are the experts on the medical aspects of Sexuality Education.  If you have a problem with that, then please share this brochure with your friends, family, churches etc.  Also here is a link to an OPT-Out Form and a Petition that should be physically handed to your legislator when they come to townhall meetings to educate them on your feelings about the loss of your Parental Authority over your children.  It's time to pray, study and act and may God have mercy upon us and save us in this time of need.

Common Core Opt Out Form/Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) --A Tool For Parents Against Common Core

PPRA Notice and Consent/Opt-Out Form (click here to download and share).

(Thanks to Col. John Eidsmoe with the Foundation For Moral Law!)

Please read further to understand the need and what's coming:

Parents must recognize that Commmon Core will change America as it takes away Parental Authority (Local Control will be gone as school boards will just be rubber stamps to Washington-led indoctrination.)

Get to know PPRA (see below link to form) and use it.   If you don't know about Common Core please see this link. Here is an article that will give a glimpse from its planners --please note the Lou Gerstner idea of getting rid of the 16,000 school districts and replacing it with 70 is almost complete.

Please make copy and pass on to all parents to fill out and turn in to school district.   Defend your child. Don't forget the Petition to Regain Parental Authority. Please click at the book picture of National Sexuality Education Standards which is headed your way--already in states like Illinois.  Obamacore (aka Common Core) is to Education what  Obamacare is to Health.   Planned Parenthood received $75 mil a year to expand and their farming is done right under our noses in schools--read this:

“We saw in a couple different states last year that part of Planned Parenthood’s curriculum is to demonstrate different sexual positions with stuffed animals to children in kindergarten,”...more here .

You will have to ask your school for the OPT Out form on SEX ED as some of this maybe coming through the Health Clinic and you will need to find the Opt-Out form throught the school.

D

It is important as we already are hearing the nightmare from parents in Illinois.  It's Perfectly Normal is an approved textbook supplement which makes most parents angry at the pornographic nature of it.  As one teacher said "If I was showing this to my high school students I would have been hauled away and this is certainly not appropriate for 10 years old".  Video to approved supplement (State of Illinois)--It's Perfectly Normal.

--------------------------------The Opt-Out Form uses their words (excerpt):

The Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA), 20 U.S.C. § 1232h, requires school district
to notify and obtain consent or allow parents/guardians to opt child out of participating in certain school activities.
These activities include a student survey, analysis, or evaluation that concerns one or more of the following eight
areas (“protected information surveys”):

1. Political affiliations or beliefs of the student or student’s parent;
2. Mental or psychological problems of the student or student’s family;
3. Sex behavior or attitudes;
4. Illegal, anti-social, self-incriminating, or demeaning behavior;
5. Critical appraisals of others with whom respondents have close family relationships;
6. Legally recognized privileged relationships, such as with lawyers, doctors, or ministers;
7. Religious practices, affiliations, or beliefs of the student or parents; or
8. Income, other than as required by law to determine program eligibility.
This requirement also applies to the collection, disclosure or use of student information for
marketing purposes (“marketing surveys”) and physical exams and screening

The National Sexuality Ed standards may also come through your health clinics and they have special opt out form--find it (there is a warning that PP must approve).  Please be aware if your child is 14 you may not get a notice to consent.  Please look into your state's Personal Responsibility Education Programs (Planned Parenthood by any other name still awful).  In Alabama it is called APREP so study.  On this link is this comment that is a warning:

Suggesting Planned Parenthood encourages parental involvement in their teaching is a bold- faced lie! As a former teacher, I sat with Freshmen while planned parenthood presented the "value" of the on- site clinic and several times reiterated "you can come to us and your parents don't need to know". They encouraged students to get a parent signature " on-file" so students could seek their assistance anytime without further parental contact! As a parent I was furious at the "deception" promotion. As a teacher I was equally concerned. Students could not get an aspirin from the nurses office without permission from a parent, but they could go to the on-site "clinic" and get morning after pills without parental knowledge! I could go on and on, but rest assured Planned Parenthood in schools is no friend to parents.

And just in case you haven't heard about the DATA MINING...this will help:

Parents – Don’t be deceived about data collecting on your children

In response to the article by Bill Maddox with Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education in the Fayette Citizen, http://www.thecitizen.com/articles/07-30-2013/column-common-core-contained-multiple-errors, where he claims Common Core does not require the collection of any data about students.  I always find it interesting that the proponents of Common Core nationalized standards never provide proof of what they claim.   So, in my response I will supply the documentation so parents can do their own research to know the truth about the privacy issues surrounding the collecting of data on their children.

Parents need to know that data collecting on our nation’s government school children has been ongoing for decades. The U.S. Department of Education’s own handbooks on data-gathering on students and faculty should be enough to satisfy any freedom-loving citizen. The two publications are the Student Data Handbook for Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education (NCES 94–303) released in June 1994, and the Staff Data Handbook: Elementary, Secondary and Early Childhood Education (NCES 95–327) released in January 1995. Both Handbooks were produced under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Education, the Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI), and the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

The Foreword for the Student Data Handbook states: “NCES is pleased to release the 1994 Student Data Handbook: Elementary, Secondary and Early Childhood Education. It is a major effort to establish current and consistent terms, definitions and classification codes to maintain, correct, report and exchange information about students. When this effort began, the only existing national standards for student data had been published by NCES in 1974. Because student data have evolved greatly over time both in the type and format of data maintained, it was essential that new standards be developed that would reflect current practices. NCES has a strong commitment to provide technical assistance and support to the education community to facilitate the collection, reporting, and use of high quality education information. This handbook is one outcome of that commitment. It is but one in a series of related handbooks and manuals that NCES has published in the past and plans to continue to develop in the future.”

So, what is the relationship between Common Core and data-collection?  As part of Race to the Top, and elsewhere in the 2009 Stimulus bill, along with agreeing to adopt the Common Core standards, the states that wanted federal money had to commit to build massive student databases. These databases are designed to track children from preschool (or earlier), through college, and into the workforce.  At this time, Georgia also agreed to move all the student (and teacher) data to Google servers for storage.  If you are following the stories on the national data collecting by the NSA, you know that our federal government has access to all data stored on these servers, including our student’s information.

As you may know by now, the National Governor’s Association (NGA) and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) are the organizations that the proponents of Common Core standards point to as the “state led” component of development. Citizens should know that these are private trade organizations with no legislative authority to change education standards. Only Georgia’s General Assembly has the constitutional authority to do so. Being private entities they are not subject to open meeting or open record laws.

A 2008 report by the NGA, the CCSSO, and Achieve, Inc. (another private trade organization contracted by the NGA and the CCSSO to develop the Common Core standards) titled Benchmarking for Success: Ensuring U.S. Students Receive a World-Class Education laid out the framework for the Common Core national standards.  In this document is a list of actions including data collecting. (NOTE: accountability and measuring performance means collecting data)

Action 4: Hold schools and systems accountable through monitoring, interventions, and support to ensure consistently high performance, drawing upon international best practices.

Action 5: Measure state-level education performance globally by examining student achievement and attainment in an international context to ensure that, over time, students are receiving the education they need to compete in the 21st century economy.

Web link to this report: http://www.nga.org/cms/home/nga-center-for-best-practices/center-publications/page-edu-publications/col2-content/main-content-list/benchmarking-for-success-ensurin.html

According to the website of Achieve, Inc (http://www.achieve.org/print/P-20-data-systems) “States must collect, coordinate, and use K-12 and postsecondary data to track and improve the readiness of graduates to succeed in college and the workplace.”  Remember, Achieve, Inc. helped develop the Common Core national standards.

According to the website of the Council of Chief State School Officers (http://www.ccsso.org/Resources/Programs/Shared_Learning_Collaborative_%28SLC%29.html), Georgia became a Tier I participant in the collection of data through a Bill Gates company called the Shared Learning Collaborative.  The website states “Although the SLC technology delivers the advantage of a common infrastructure for data integration and application interoperability, the end-user experience will be customized by participating states and districts.

According to a fact sheet produced by the CCSSO (http://www.classsizematters.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/SLCFactSheet_FINAL.pdf) “The collaborative is designing a shared technology infrastructure that will support the implementation of the Common Core State Standards and help states and districts provide teachers with the instructional data and tools they need.”

The Shared Learning Collaborative has morphed into a Bill Gates company called inBloom (https://www.inbloom.org/).   The stated vision of inBloom from their website: “inBloom is dedicated to bringing together the data, content and tools educators need to make personalized learning a reality for every student.”   inBloom has a list of over 400 data points that it would like to collect on our students.  The National Education Data Model recommends collecting over 400 data points – academic performance, disciplinary history, family income range, religious affiliation, health history, etc. https://www.inbloom.org/sites/default/files/docs-developer-1.0.68-20130118/ch-data_model-enums.html#type-SexType&#8221

Bill Gates has agreed to move the inBloom company headquarters to Atlanta.   This is a “feather in the cap” for Governor Deal’s economic development goals.   At one time Georgia was listed as a partner with this company on the inBloom website.   Is this possibly why Governor Deal is so committed to keeping Georgia’s schools tied to this national standard rather than allowing us to maintain local control as the U.S. Constitution allows?

This listing of Georgia as a partner with inBloom has now been removed, probably due to the many phone calls to Governor Deal’s office from parents, teachers, and citizens across Georgia with concerns over this data collecting.  However, do not think that this means that your child’s school is no longer collecting data, we are.  In Fayette, the data collected is known as “Infinite Campus.” The national assessments are intended to create even more data.  While Georgia has announced the pull out of our contract with the assessment consortia known as PARCC, Superintendent John Barge stated that Georgia will develop our own assessments aligned with Common Core.  Notice that we are now assessing our children rather than having objective testing of knowledge.

According to the website, DataQualityCampaign.org, Georgia has completed 7 out of 10 “Actions to Ensure Effective Data Use.”  These actions DO include collection of data, but according to this report Georgia is not yet sharing data across the P-20 education pipeline and across state agencies.  However, this framework is in place and can be launched at any time.

A February Department of Education report titled “Grit, Tenacity, and Perseverance” http://www.ed.gov/edblogs/technology/files/2013/02/OET-Draft-Grit-Report-2-17-13.pdf) reveals the federal government’s plans for data-mining which includes the use of very disturbing monitoring techniques such as “functional magnetic resonance imaging” and “using cameras to judge facial expressions, an electronic seat that judges posture, a pressure-sensitive computer mouse and a biometric wrap on kids’ wrists.” See page 44 of this report for images of this specialized equipment they would like to use on our children.

The DOE report exposes the big lie that Common Core is about raising academic standards by revealing its progressive designs to measure and track children’s “competencies” in “recognizing bias in sources,” “flexibility,” “cultural awareness and competence,” “appreciation for diversity,” “empathy,” “perspective taking, trust (and) service orientation.”

So, do not believe that just because Governor Deal issues an executive order that data should not be collected on our children that this means all data collecting has stopped.  It hasn’t. And don’t believe that the partnership with inBloom has been dissolved.

I encourage parents to do their homework.  Ask your school about what kind of data they are collecting.  Demand to see your student’s records and data collected so far.   Parents, teachers, and citizens should contact Governor Deal, and Superintendent of Schools, John Barge, and ask them to support the legislation in Georgia that WILL end the collecting of data and withdraw Georgia from the commitment of Common Core national standards.  That bill is S.B. 167 sponsored by Senator William Ligon.  For more information parents should go to www.StopCommonCore.com.

Petition To Uphold Parental Authority

Here are a few videos (below)  to help those who are asleep about the trouble with our education system.  These are videos about its effects on children.  Also please be careful about the Parental Rights Amendment--here is a warning on it.

Here is a brochure/flyer that you can use.  There is room on bottom left of outside page to enter your contact info for your group or state or self--please feel free to use and help educate.

To sum it up the educational systems being touted such as the Common Core Standards, Charter Schools and School Choice are all very dangerous for they all are built on an unconstitutional foundation of taking away parental authority and local control.  The founding fathers had set up a great system of local control as we saw with local elected officials such as school boards, accountable to the people in their communities.  But alas there is a change in the making to erode the power of WE the people right smack under the disguise of making our kids College and Career Ready.  Listen to the interview of Mona Lisa and Kip Harding and realize the failure of our education system when compared to the Founders system of PARENTAL AUTHORITY over their children's education.

Those touting Common Core uses the military problem of moving place to place as the mantra for the Common Core and this is debunked early in the conversation with this family.

More parents are waking up as we are hearing the cries of the children.  We hope you will join us and make a stand.  Here is a petition written up by Mrs. Barbara Moore (historian) we hope you will bring to your legislators as they come to your community:

Petition To Uphold Parental Authority--here is link to form

We, the undersigned, exercise our 1st Amendment right to petition the
government for a redress of grievances by placing our signatures to this
document.  We oppose all attempts by the government to authorize the Common
Core Educational System, School Choice and Charter Schools.  All of these
undermine parental authority and local school boards.  We support defunding
Common Core, School Choice, Charter Schools, and the Dept. of Education.  The
10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states that, "The powers not delegated
to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are
reserved to the states respectively, or to the people".  No power is delegated
to the U.S. regarding education so it is clearly unconstitutional for the national
government to be involved in it, dictating standards and policies.  We uphold
parental authority and respectfully require our government to do likewise.

Please copy and paste above and get people to sign on.

Make a statement and maybe even inform them as some may not realize the bottom line is that we will not tolerate the loss of PARENTAL AUTHORITY.  We who know where our blessings come from, also know we have a God-given responsibility to raise the children.  Those who want to take that authority away should hear from you.  Please take this petition with signatures to your legislators and impress upon them the importance of your PARENTAL AUTHORITY.

Making Sense Out of Common Core--Facts On The Why And Who Are Behind These Rotten Standards

Hear are some very insightful links for you to study and get a handle on Common Core State Standards:

Proponents say:

The Common Core State Standards Initiative is a state-led effort that established a single set of clear educational standards for kindergarten through 12th grade in English language arts and mathematics that states voluntarily adopt.

States across the country collaborated with teachers, researchers, and leading experts to design and develop the Common Core State Standards. Each state independently made the decision to adopt the Common Core State Standards, beginning in 2010. The federal government was NOT involved in the development of the standards.

The Common Core State Standards are a clear set of shared goals and expectations for the knowledge and skills students need in English language arts and mathematics at each grade level to ultimately be prepared to graduate college and career ready. The standards establish what students need to learn, but they do not dictate how teachers should teach. Teachers will continue to devise lesson plans and tailor instruction to the individual needs of the students in their classrooms.

This process is state-led, and has support from across the country, including CCSSO, the NGA Center, Achieve, Inc, ACT, the College Board, the National Association of State Boards of Education, the Alliance for Excellent Education, the Hunt Institute, the National Parent Teacher Association, the State Higher Education Executive Officers, the American Association of School Administrators, and the Business Roundtable.

The Subjects:

English language arts and math were the subjects chosen for the Common Core State Standards because they are areas upon which students build skill sets which are used in other subjects. They are also the subjects most frequently assessed for accountability purposes.

Other Areas:

CCSSO and NGA are not leading the development of standards in other academic content areas. Below is information on efforts of other organizations to develop standards in other academic subjects.

  • Science: In a process managed by Achieve, with the help of the National Research Council, the National Science Teachers Association, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, states are developing the Next Generation Science Standards. More information about this effort can be found here.
  • World Languages: The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages published an alignment of the National Standards for Learning Languages with the ELA Common Core State Standards. More information about this effort can be found here.
  • Arts: The National Coalition for Core Arts Standards is leading the revision of the National Standards for Arts Education. More information about this effort can be found here.

The Other Side:

Guess what else they have developed?

"Students need opportunities to engage in cooperative and active  learning strategies, and sufficient time must be allocated for students to practice  skills relating to sexuality education."  Read more.

LISA HARRIS (former teacher from Georgia) said: " Two examples how the standards are reduced--Algebra is being moved from 8th to 9th--hurts math success. In English Language Arts--there is an increase of informational text vs literature--which uses lower level of thinking skills instead of the higher thinking skills which are taught through literary devices (as in great literature).

EMMETT MCGROARTY (The American Principles Project) has stated-"Common Core infringes on state autonomy-Standards were developed by private entities. Entities that have copyrighted the standards. Participation in Common Core commits states to using 100 percent of standards. States can add 15 per cent but CANNOT CHANGE any of it."

Professors JIM MILGRAM (nation's Math expert) and SANDRA STOTSKY (nation's English Language Arts Expert) was on Nat'l. Validation Committee of Common Core-would not sign off on it. Prof. MILGRAM suggests parents homeschool their children!

Prof. STOTSKY warns:  "For these Superintendent and others who say we've spent so much and we got to continue--No! If you're feeding poison to your children, you don't want to continue using that poison supply even if you've invested a lot of money buying it

Common Core's Approach is going to Raise a Generation that is Easily Manipulated!

Utahn's Against Common Core Video of Interview With Mental Health Therapist:

Risk of this type of approach could seriously set the mental health resilience of children back 50 years because the concept they advocate are opposed to the research used now.

Children are being taught to think and use words that have high emotional impact that gives biggest reaction creates anger, competition, resentment (negative).

Children's reasoning abilities won't be finished 'til age 24--what is finished is their primitive part, the limbic system, part that engage when we feel threatened, shamed.

What we should be doing for children is not training them in the limbic system with emotionally charged activity...

We need to use the research we know and not ignore it or trash it as Common Core is doing as these facts are important to the teaching of children

We will rear generation that is not just more vulnerable to emotional stress, emotional challenges but is very easily manipulated. It just takes one trigger and you have a national mob-that is being motivated by anger and revenge-very easily manipulated.

In contrast a generation that knows how to think independently--they are free because they aren't easily manipulated.

Excerpts from Beverly Eastman's  The Dark Side of Nationwide Tests

More prophetically, Wirtz and LaPointe wrote: "A different kind of assessment would help correct the tilt in the educational-standards concept toward functional literacy and away from excellence."

Direct education away from excellence?  That's right.  The authors detailed how a clearinghouse-style database incorporating demographic and psychological-profiling data would help steer schools toward what these "experts" deemed a more realistic ideal: mere functional literacy.

Then there are the student-identification methods applied to "confidential" tests and surveys the testers say are not "individually identifiable."  This doesn't mean, however, that students are not "individually identified."  Confused?  The National Center for Education Statistics 1993 Field Restricted Use Data Procedures Manual explains this semantic sleight of hand.  Techniques range from simple bar-coding and "slugging" to more-complicated exercises such as "sticky-labelling" and inserting "embedded identifiers."

To the testers, however, the term "confidential" means "need to know."  The "confidential" label casually applied by officials to modern testing and survey devices invariably is taken for anonymity, thereby masking the fact that:

  1. higher scores are accorded "preferred" viewpoints,
  2. curriculum is modified and targeted to specific groups of children to correct "inappropriate" attitudes and, more ominously,
  3. certain views that once were considered "principled" now are deemed "rigid" and associated with mental illness or psychological defects..please read article on Scribd

The Charlotte Iserbyt Interview--Tell All--The Education Whistle-Blower (Mind Control)

The Planners:

Lou Gerstner's (Achieve-who wrote Common Core) suggestions:(Wall Street Journal article Nov 23, 2008)-to the president elect Obama:

..."I’m going to suggest is that he convene the 50 governors, and the first thing they do is they abolish the 16,000 school districts we have in the United States. Sixteen thousand school districts are what we’re trying to cram this reform through...

These organizations stand in the way of what we want to do.

Now, the governors could decide, we’ll keep them as advisory, we can keep them as community support, but they will not be involved in the fundamental direction of public education in America. Second, this group of governors will then select 50 school districts, plus I’d say 20 major cities, so we got 70 school districts. Seventy instead of 16,000...read more
